Alabama Governor Lifts Moratorium on Unlawful Detainer Actions


Alabama Governor Kay Ivey has issued an Order modifying her previous orders concerning the moratorium on unlawful detainer and evictions actions. By Order issued May 21, 2020, Governor Ivey has removed the moratorium on unlawful detainer and evictions cases effective at 12 a.m. on June 1, 2020. Landlords are now able to proceed with unlawful detainer actions as before, including for monetary violations. All aspects of the Alabama Landlord Tenant Act still apply.
